WorkWithPDF is a browser-based PDF toolset. The defining characteristic of this service — and the basis on which these Terms are written — is that document processing happens inside your browser. The contents of your files are not uploaded to our servers.
1. Agreement
By accessing or using WorkWithPDF at workwithpdf.io (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. The Service is operated by Stipple AI Pty Ltd, an Australian proprietary limited company (“we”, “us”, “our”).
2. How the Service Works
WorkWithPDF provides PDF processing tools that run within your web browser using JavaScript and Web Workers. When you use a tool, your document is loaded into your browser's memory, processed on your device, and the result is offered to you as a download. Results are also saved in your browser's storage on your device until you clear them. The contents of your files are not transmitted to our servers during this process.
This means:
- We do not hold copies of your documents, so we cannot access or recover them for you
- Results saved in your browser stay on your device until you clear the workspace or your browser data
- You need an internet connection to load the Service
3. Access
3.1 Free Access
All tools are currently free to use. There are no user accounts, and you do not need to sign up or sign in.
3.2 Enterprise
If your organisation needs something beyond the standard Service, contact us at gaurav@stipple.sh. Any enterprise arrangement will be covered by a separate agreement between Stipple AI Pty Ltd and your organisation.
4. Your Responsibilities
Because your files are processed on your device and we do not keep copies, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring you have the right to process any document you use with the Service
- Compliance with any legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations governing your documents
- The security of your own device and browser storage
- Maintaining backups of your original documents
- Checking every output before you rely on it or share it. In particular, the Redact tool currently draws black boxes over content but does not remove the underlying text, which can still be copied or extracted from the output file. Do not rely on it for legal, regulated, or other high-stakes documents.
5. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Service to:
- Process documents you do not have the right to access or modify
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security feature of the Service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense access to the Service without written permission
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
6. Intellectual Property
The software, design, trademarks, and all other content comprising the Service are owned by Stipple AI Pty Ltd or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Service as described in these Terms. No other rights are granted. Your documents remain entirely your own — we claim no rights over any content you process.
7. Privacy and Data
Our Privacy Policy explains in full what limited personal data we collect (primarily analytics and hosting logs) and how we use it. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Fees
The Service is currently free. We do not take payments through the Service.
9. No Warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR PRODUCE RESULTS IDENTICAL TO OTHER PDF TOOLS. PDF PROCESSING IS PERFORMED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE; OUTPUT QUALITY DEPENDS ON YOUR BROWSER, HARDWARE, AND INPUT FILE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ALL OUTPUTS BEFORE RELYING ON THEM. IN PARTICULAR, THE REDACT TOOL DOES NOT CURRENTLY REMOVE THE TEXT UNDER ITS BLACK BOXES.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STIPPLE AI PTY LTD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY LOSS OF DATA OR DOCUMENTS. BECAUSE PROCESSING OCCURS ON YOUR DEVICE, WE HAVE NO ABILITY TO RECOVER DOCUMENTS ON YOUR BEHALF. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100 AUD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Stipple AI Pty Ltd from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your documents, or your breach of these Terms.
12. Third-Party Services
The Service uses Vercel for hosting and analytics, and Google Analytics for site analytics. Neither service receives your document content. Each of them handles data under its own terms.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service for material breach of these Terms. Because your documents are processed and stored on your device, termination does not delete your files. You may stop using the Service at any time.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post changes at workwithpdf.io/legal/terms with a new effective date.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, those laws apply in addition to these Terms.
