Do my files leave the browser?
Your files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. Results are generated on your device and saved in your browser's storage until you clear the workspace. You do need an internet connection to load the site. There's no account or sign-in.
Does Redact PDF remove the text under the black boxes?
Not yet. Redact PDF draws solid black boxes over the areas you choose, but the text underneath stays in the file and can still be copied or extracted. Before you share the result, try selecting or searching for the covered text. For legal, medical, financial, or other regulated documents, use a dedicated redaction tool that removes the underlying content.
